2013-2014 Proposed School Calendars (Revised 2/2013)

REVISED CALENDAR FOR THE 2013-14 School Year

The above calendar is a revised version of the NRMPS 2013-2014 Academic Calendar. Please review and submit any questions, comments or concerns by February 20, 2013 for the district to consider, as we finalize the calendar.

The calendar meets the guidelines of the 2012 Senate Bill 187, which states several requirements for all school calendars in North Carolina including the following main points:

• School cannot start any earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 or end later than the Friday closest to June 11.

• All academic calendars must include at least ten teacher work days with two workdays on which teachers may use annual leave days.

• Calendars must have 10 annual vacation leave days with the same or an equivalent number of legal state holidays.

• Veterans Day shall be a holiday for all public school personnel and all students enrolled in public schools.
