Graduation Requirements

The Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools expects all students to complete a rigorous course of study in high school preparing each student for successful transition to post-secondary pursuits. Effective with students entering high school in the 09-10 school year, the state of NC instituted the Future Ready Core (FRC) Course of Study. The FRC Course of Study requires students to master concepts and skills in the core areas of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, as well as meet other requirements to be eligible for admission to a college/university in the University of North Carolina system. Achieving this level of preparation also provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to enter the NC Community College system, a branch of the military, or to begin employment.

The chart below outlines graduation requirements based on the year a student entered high school. If you have additional questions about graduation requirements, please contact your child's school and speak with a counselor.
