Congratulations to Vedant Kar for his championship win at the Delta Center For Life Development Advancement Spelling Bee on March 15th! Vedant will represent Edgecombe County and Parker Middle School in the 2012 Scripps National Spelling Bee in May. He and his parents will travel to Washington, D.C. for the national competition. Malcom Beasley placed second and TyNasha Ricks placed third in the Advancement Spelling Bee. A total of twenty-three students competed in the Spelling Bee, practicing after school and at home to learn the 1150 words required to compete. Congratulations to all these hard-working students! We especially thank the Delta Center For Life Development for sponsoring our Scripps Advancement Spelling Bee and for hosting a wonderful event. We also thank all the Spelling Bee members' parents, who offered much support and encouragement throughout the year.
Please join us from 6-7 p.m. for a celebration of Fine Arts at Parker Middle School.
We welcome our new Principal, Mrs. Leorita Hankerson, to Parker Middle School. She is a wonderful asset to our school and we are very glad she is part of our family!
