Cardinal Weekly Announcement
It looks like the cold weather will stay with us this week so please remember to put your child's name in their coats, sweat shirts, hats and gloves, so that if they are misplaced we can get them back to your child. We have had an increase in students being sick so please remember if your child has a fever or has thrown up to be sure these symptoms are gone for 24 hours before returning to school, for example if they get sick at 10am they have to be symptom free until the next day at 10am before returning to school. Our PTA is selling fast pass raffle tickets for $5 so if you are a car rider who would like to avoid the line you may consider purchasing a raffle ticket. We will have two lucky families who will be able to avoid the car line wait from February 3rd until the end of the year. Please see Mrs. Morningstar's dojo message for more details. Pre-K and Kindergarten registration is coming soon. We will host our Kindergarten registration on March 6th at NES. We look forward to seeing all our Cardinals tomorrow morning and to a great week to end the Month of January.

Student HandbooksAs we all know, we are living in a digital world and it makes sound financial sense to provide our resources in a digital platform when possible. Handbooks have been a costly items for our school district over the years. The school district has placed a digital copy of the handbook on the NRMS website, which is accessible to all parents who have internet connection. We are still sending the Media Release, Procedures for Social Media, and Acknowledgement of Review of the Handbook signature forms for all students/parents to sign. It is the responsibility of the parents to review the handbook online or by attaining a hard copy. Below is the link to the 2017-2018 Student Handbook.
As your students have probably told you, our school will be participating in the Box Tops for Education™ program again this year. This program is an easy way to help raise money for our school. All you have to do is clip Box Tops for Education™ from food boxes, cans, jars, etc. and turn them into your child's teacher. Once we send in all our Box Tops, our school will receive a check from Box Tops for Education™ in December and can use this cash to buy the things we need. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Linda Carter (our Box Top Coordinator) at firstname.lastname@example.org or 252.451.2877. Our school receives two checks from the Box Tops for Education™ program each school year. If you turn in your Box Tops before October 28 you can help boost the amount of the first check we receive in December. Our school’s Box Tops have to be submitted by November 3 to be included in our December check. Hurry, clip your Box Tops and turn them in before the deadline. Thanks for your help!
