Cardinal Weekly Announcement
Week of May 22
We are kicking off the NCREADS book drive and will be collecting books the rest of this week and next week. NCREADS used to be called the give 5 read 5 program. We have one third grade student who has collected over 1,000 books and we want to see if the rest of the school can match her. We will then have a big book giveaway the last week of school to spread the wealth for summer reading. You can drop books off in the front lobby starting Monday. Also, this week we will start off the EOG testing season with our 5th grade science test. Friday May 26th all our 5th graders will be taking the on-line science test. Next week May 31st and June 1st our 3-5 students will be taking the reading and math EOGs. We are shooting for perfect attendance on those EOG days. All students in on time and in attendance for each testing day will have their name put in a drawing for a brand new bicycle. We will be giving away 4 bikes so let's be sure to have everyone in attendance for testing. Lastly we still have yearbooks for sale and will have a yearbook signing this Thursday before our EOG pep rally. Monday, May 29th is Memorial Day, there will be no school.

As your students have probably told you, our school will be participating in the Box Tops for Education™ program again this year. This program is an easy way to help raise money for our school. All you have to do is clip Box Tops for Education™ from food boxes, cans, jars, etc. and turn them into your child's teacher. Once we send in all our Box Tops, our school will receive a check from Box Tops for Education™ in December and can use this cash to buy the things we need. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Linda Carter (our Box Top Coordinator) at email@example.com or 252.451.2877. Our school receives two checks from the Box Tops for Education™ program each school year. If you turn in your Box Tops before October 28 you can help boost the amount of the first check we receive in December. Our school’s Box Tops have to be submitted by November 3 to be included in our December check. Hurry, clip your Box Tops and turn them in before the deadline. Thanks for your help!
