Cardinal Weekly Announcement
Thank you to everyone who came out to get your child's work packet on Friday. We were able to pass out close to 500 packets. I know our staff enjoyed being able to see our families come through as well. Remember to have your child work each day on assignments provided and keep reading about Ralph and his adventures on that Motorcycle. If you were unable to get to school to pick up a packet and do not have access to your child's information online then just call the school on Monday after 9:00 and you can arrange a time for pick up at the front door of the school. At this time we do not have further information regarding how long we will be out of school after the 27th however the state leaders did make it clear there would be more time after this week that we are out. This event continues to change often so I will keep you informed as best I can regarding school. The school district continues to provide food pick ups at various locations from 10:30-1:30 Monday-Friday. The closest locations include, NCMS, Spring Hope Elementary, ROMS and Benvenue Elementary. In addition there will be buses making stops at the following locations and times starting tomorrow for those who need meals. The bus is scheduled to stop at E. Old Spring Hope Rd and Cross Creek at 10:49, E. Washington St and N. Wheeles Dr. at 10:55 and Brake St. and Southside Dr. at 10:59.

Student HandbooksAs we all know, we are living in a digital world and it makes sound financial sense to provide our resources in a digital platform when possible. Handbooks have been a costly items for our school district over the years. The school district has placed a digital copy of the handbook on the NRMS website, which is accessible to all parents who have internet connection. We are still sending the Media Release, Procedures for Social Media, and Acknowledgement of Review of the Handbook signature forms for all students/parents to sign. It is the responsibility of the parents to review the handbook online or by attaining a hard copy. Below is the link to the 2017-2018 Student Handbook.
As your students have probably told you, our school will be participating in the Box Tops for Education™ program again this year. This program is an easy way to help raise money for our school. All you have to do is clip Box Tops for Education™ from food boxes, cans, jars, etc. and turn them into your child's teacher. Once we send in all our Box Tops, our school will receive a check from Box Tops for Education™ in December and can use this cash to buy the things we need. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Linda Carter (our Box Top Coordinator) at firstname.lastname@example.org or 252.451.2877. Our school receives two checks from the Box Tops for Education™ program each school year. If you turn in your Box Tops before October 28 you can help boost the amount of the first check we receive in December. Our school’s Box Tops have to be submitted by November 3 to be included in our December check. Hurry, clip your Box Tops and turn them in before the deadline. Thanks for your help!
