Yearbooks must be ordered online this year! Please order on the yearbookordercenter.com website with the school code 10298 for $60 before the end of May if possible, to guarantee that you receive a yearbook when we pass them out! We do NOT want to be working with cash purchases when we pass them out, possibly in the fall we will take cash purchases for remaining yearbooks.Additional notes:Herff Jones is slowly reopening at the printing press location for our yearbooks. We do not have an exact date yet as to when our yearbooks will finish printing and ship to us. We are hopeful to receive them at some point in June and then we will need to organize them and then organize a safe way to pass them out and we will share that information with seniors first, it might be later in the summer before all this happens. Underclassmen might not get their yearbooks until we return to school in the fall. We do not know yet, but we will inform you all with an update once we know more. But please order online, to get one when we do pass them out. Thanks again for partnering with us and letting all your families know about our "Free Grocery Drive-Thru". NEED HELP WITH FAFSA?
As we prepare for the Countdown to College (C2C) and FAFSA completion and RDS, we want to make sure that students/parents are able to get the help they need to complete the FAFSA.
We have a short interest form that students or parents can fill out indicating their interest in receiving Financial Aid information or help in completing the FAFSA form. This is a FREE service; there is no fee or service charge. Please share this FAFSA Student Interest link http://tinyurl.com/y4npcf9d with interested students and parents at your school.
The data obtained will be sent to local county colleges and universities, so that they can follow up with information about local FAFSA Day events and offers of FAFSA completion assistance. You can also check out the CFNC site with the NC map to find FAFSA completion services near your school. Click on the purple dots to find colleges and universities participating in FAFSA Day or other FAFSA completion events: https://www.cfnc.org/pay/fafsa_day.jspOur homecoming game will be our PINK OUT game this year! My name is Dr. Collins, and I am the Nash Community College Career Coach that serves Southern Nash. Please review the attached information about the Nash Community College Career and College Promise Program. I would love to speak with you about this program! You may schedule a meeting time with me on Tuesdays at SN by contacting your high school counselor or me. I look forward to sharing this wonderful opportunity with you!
Uniquely enough, North Carolina is the only state to have a Governor Page Program. Established in 1973, the Governor’s Page Program gives high school students from all over North Carolina the opportunity to come to Raleigh for a week of hands-on participation in their state government through touring and listening to a range of speakers such as Supreme Justices and Deputy Commissioners. There will also be an opportunity to meet with the Governor himself.
In addition, students will also be creating their own volunteer project to bring back to their communities. We want the Page Program to represent North Carolina’s diverse communities and help inspire a new generation of leaders. While in this role, I am hoping to increase diversity by expanding knowledge of the program to all counties in the state, as I believe this is an opportunity that should be presented to all students.
Each applicant must be a North Carolina high school student in good academic standing between the ages of sixteen and eighteen years old. Pages are selected to serve for a term of four days. If you know of any students at your school who would be interested in serving, please pass this along to them. In addition, feel free to pass along to other teachers or school administration to spread the word.
This link includes a more in depth view of the program as well as the application process for students. 2020 dates are now available online. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions, and thank you in advance!
