      Sherri Wells, Principal

Welcome to our Middlesex Elementary Website, Home of the Cougars. I am Sherri Wells,
Principal of this wonderful school. I have been in Education for 27 years.  During my Six years as Principal I have had the pleasure of working with so many wonderful students and parents.  Our goal at Middlesex is to prepare our students for their future.  We work together as a staff team to meet the many varied needs of all of our students.  We provide them with real life experiences and dedicate our time to helping each student grow.

If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at smwells@nrms.k12.nc.us or call the school

At MES, we will be ALL IN working together and helping each other be the best that we can be! As part of our PBIS program, we are practicing the 7 Healthy Habits to ensure that students and staff are working in a learning environment where all can reach their potential.

Habit #1 BE PROACTIVE: You’re in Charge – Find positive ways to solve problems.
Habit #2 BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND: Have a plan –
Set goals and be a good citizen.
Habit #3 PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST: Work First, Then Play – Be self-disciplined & organized.
Habit #4 THINK-WIN-WIN: Everyone Can Win – Treat everyone with kindness.
Habit #5 SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD: Listen before you talk.
Habit #6 SYNERGIZE: Together is Better – Get along with others; work cooperatively in a group.
Habit #7 SHARPEN THE SAW: Balance Feels Best – Eat right, exercise, rest, spend time with family.

Take time to model and talk with your children about the importance of practicing these Healthy Habits in their everyday lives. It is sure to pay off!

Mrs. Wells and I extend an invitation to you to get involved at school as a volunteer. Studies show that students who have parents involved in school develop a deeper connection to school and perform academically. We have multiple opportunities for involvement, including being a member of the Parent Advisory Committee For Students & Staff (PACSS), tutoring a student and much, much more. If you are interested volunteering, please contact the school and let us know.

We look forward to getting to know you and working with you for the 2019/2020 year.   Please feel free to contact us with any concerns or compliments!
