Nashville, NC – Nearly 150 people gathered at the Rose Hill Conference Center at Nathan Hall to honor various Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) educators during the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year Banquet on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Patricia Edmondson of Rocky Mount Middle School was named the 2017-2018 NRMPS Teacher of the Year and Victor L. Edmondson has 19 years of teaching experience and has an Associate’s of Arts degree from Edgecombe Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from North Carolina Wesleyan College and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. Edmondson currently teaches sixth grade English Language Arts and Social Studies at Rocky Mount Middle School. “This honor is above and beyond anything I could have ever possibly hoped for and imagined in my profession. It has taught me to not limit myself in anything because anything is possible,” said Edmondson. “I love teaching and I fall in love with teaching every day. Teaching is a gift and we have to take it seriously and teach with our whole heart,” she added.
