NRMPS Announces New Administrative Appointments and a Meet and Greet Reception
Nashville, NC – The Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) Board of Education approved Eric Mitchell as the assistant director of transportation on Monday, April 23, 2018 during their Special Called Board Meeting. Mitchell previously served as the principal of Nash Central Middle School. He started his career as a teacher in Halifax County in 1990 before joining NRMPS in 2002 as an assistant principal. Mitchell holds a bachelor’s of science degree in industrial technology and electronics from North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State University and a master’s of school administration and supervision degree from East Carolina University.
The six year veteran principal Chris Sivills of Edwards Middle School will become the new principal at Nash Central Middle School. He started his career as a teacher in Halifax County in 1993 before joining NRMPS in 2001 as an assistant principal. Sivills holds a bachelor’s of science degree in health and physical education from North Carolina Wesleyan College, a master’s degree in education administration and education specialist degree in educational administration both from East Carolina University. A Meet and Greet Reception has been schedule for parents, students and community members on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 6 pm. The location will be Nash Central Middle School, 1638 South First Street, Nashville, NC.
Rosalie Bardin, a former retired NRMPS principal and current principal mentor, will serve as the interim principal at Edwards Middle School for the remainder of the year. All positions will be effective May 1, 2018.
