Interim Superintendent Named for Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools
Nashville, NC – At the Special Called Board Meeting held August 20, 2019, our School Board named Dr. Del Burns as the interim superintendent of Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) effective August 21, 2019. Dr. Burns is a former Wake County superintendent. He retired from Wake County in June 2010 after 34 years in education, much of it in the Wake County Public School System. Since that time, he has served as the interim superintendent in Alamance-Burlington, Edgecombe County, Orange County, Bertie County and Wake County Schools, all in North Carolina.
Additionally, NRMPS would like to congratulate the following administrators on their new assignments:
Joyce Jarrett has joined the NRMPS team as the chief finance officer.
Dr. Christine Catalano, former executive director of middle school and advanced program, is the executive director of school transformation and advanced studies.
Monique Hargrove-Jones, former principal of Fairview Elementary School, is the early learning coordinator.
Willie Woodard, former assistant principal at D.S. Johnson Elementary, is the new principal of Fairview Elementary School.
